Airport's Helicentre
Leicestershire Aero Club operates Leicester Airport. The club itself was established in 1909 and has been operating from our current location at Leicester Airport (RAF Leicester East) since 1951. The site was built and originally used by the RAF in WWII. The Aero Club is a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved Flight Training Organisation (FTO). - Weekends only: half price landing fees with fuel uplift of 50 litres of Avgas or 100 litres of Jet A1 - Customs by arrangement - NB: helicopter hover training takes place on the grass between the grass runways and on the grass runways when not in use - Noise abatement: please do not overfly local villages, particularly Houghton & Stoughton - Grass runways and taxiways are subject to water logging, esp. in winter, and may be closed without notice for long periods - Link to landing plate: https://www.google.com/search?q=EGBG+site:nats-uk.ead-it.com - Club facilities and & Aero Club Bar serving hot meals - Open Mic Nights
