Home to the Royal Navy’s Merlins plus a sizable proportion of its Sea Kings, Culdrose is the largest helicopter base in Europe with 75 aircraft and 3,000 personnel. Flying into a military air field like this requires 24 hours notice and expect a high degree of security. RNAS Culdrose is one of the busiest military airfields in the UK. Airfield is only open during the week and closed from 1400 on Fridays. Glider activity in the evening and at weekends.
